Carrie Underwood has released the name, date and the artwork for her third album, Play On. The album will be released on November 3rd. USA Today says Carrie Underwood has sold over 10 million copies of her first two albums. USA Today says she worked with producer Mark Bright for all of the songs on the upcoming album except for one. She is working on the other song with producer with producer Max Martin (Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time," Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl"). That matchup has CMT wondering if one of the songs on the country album will be a pop song.
Sting announced June 17, 2009 that his next album, "If On a Winter's Night...," will be inspired by his favorite time of year and feature two original compositions as well as traditional songs, carols and lullabies from the British Isles. The album is slated for release October 27 on Deutsche Grammophon.
"The theme of winter is rich in inspiration and material," Sting said in a statement. "By filtering all of these disparate styles into one album I hope we have created something refreshing and new."
"If On A Winter's Night" finds Sting collaborating with Robert Sadin, who produced and arranged Herbie Hancock's Grammy-winning "Gershwin's World," and a host of guest musicians including his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller. The artist's original compositions are entitled "Lullaby for an Anxious Child" and "The Hounds of Winter," and among the traditional songs being interpreted are the Newscastle ballad "The Snow It Melts the Soonest," the English "begging" song "A Soalin'," and "Gabriel's Message," a carol that dates back to the 14th century.
Of his deep affinity for winter, Sting explained, "Our ancestors celebrated the paradox of light at the heart of the darkness, and the consequent miracle of rebirth and the regeneration of the seasons."

Michael Buble released a brand new album today called Crazy Love. I was very excited to receive a copy for review. This was my first Michael Buble album and it did not disappoint! Not only did the disc have many of my favorite songs, they all sounded great.
Usually I am pretty wary of remakes, especially of songs that I consider classics. I always worry that the new song won’t be as good as the old, or worse, that it will be ruined! However, Michael does a great job of remaking songs, and has a wonderful singing voice. He stays true to the original, but adds enough of his own touch to update the song and make it his own.
My favorites from the album were All of Me, and Your Nobody Till Somebody Loves You. All the tracks are enjoyable though, and the album has been playing in the background of my daily chores since it arrived. It’s a great album for relaxing, or for nice background music to daily activities. Here is the album track list to give you an idea of the fun songs you will find on the new album!

Rod Stewart possesses one of the most distinctive and interpretive voices in music — his Grammy-Award winning recordings of the Great American Songbook have sold over 19 million albums and is the biggest selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history. With the same passion, Rod approaches some of the greatest soul songs ever written.
Rod recently said in Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Singers of All Time” issue that at the age of 15, he used to listen to soul singers on the radio like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, and blues singers like Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters, and knew that is how he wanted to sing.

There's a sweet personal exchange near the end of "Michael Jackson's This Is It," the new concert film assembled from footage of the rehearsals for the London performances nullified by his death in June. Jackson is working out a dance sequence with Kenny Ortega, the director of the ill-fated concerts and of this documentary. Ortega lovingly mimics Jackson, overplaying his signature big hand gestures, and the superstar laughs.
